Another rough day of WCOOP satellites
Yesterday was another rough day for me playing in the World Series of Online Poker satellites.
I was playing in the $5 + $.50 rebuy tournament for Sundays $1000 + $50 NLHE tournament ($1,000,000 guaranteed)
I started out well and as usual was leading my table through the first few orbits. Simultaneously I was playing in a 3 table SNG to earn some money towin some money for my bankroll.
In my WCOOP satellite I had
A K . As you know if you’re a regular reader Diamonds are a favorite of mine and I went all in. There were 3 callers and I received back about T1000 because I had everyone covered.
The flop was rags and actually ended up making a pair of fours for some idiot calling with
A 4 .
I ended up splitting the pot with the idiot as he took down the main pot and I took down the sidepot. This cost me about 1/3 my stack.
At the same time in my SNG I was handed pocket Jacks. I was trying to play this hand while the other hand was ongoing. I ended up not paying attention and calling too many bets instead of folding. I ended up loosing almost 2/3rds my stack to QQ.
Argh. I’m so frustrated. First I’m frustrated becaused I made the right call and my suited AK didn’t stand up. Perhaps I shouldn’t have been so eager to play it since there were so many callers. However no one had AA or KK so it was the right play. It was just unfortunate that someone with A4 beat me.
However the JJ play bothers me more. I just wasn’t paying attention enough. Heck the fact that I was splitting my attention between the two tournaments probably cost me in BOTH.
How’d I do in the satellite? I ended up 73rd out of 318. Not horrible, not great. An up and down game all day.
