My play in the WCOOP at Poker Stars

I’ve been splitting my time between Full Tilt and Poker Stars lately.

I love Full Tilt but I wanted to get in on some of the World Championship of Online Poker at Poker Stars. I’ve been playing in satellites to prepare myself for the big tournament and hoping to win my way in without having to drop $200+ on an entry.

So far I’ve played like utter crap!

My first few tournaments I busted out very early trying to play too aggressive. I busted out 333 out of 411 and 94 out of 111.

I decided to play it a bit tighter and see if I could get in on 7 card stud. Seven card is one of my favorite games, there are usually less people playing, and I figured I had a pretty good chance to make the tournament.

Out of 135 players I ended up busting out at 45. I was one of the top players in the tournament at times holding the top spot. One of my recent tips you should read about is Rebuy Tournament Tips. This is one of the reasons I lost out was because I didn’t rebuy for the extra T$2000 at the break. If I had I would have maintained my chip lead on the table and been able to continue my aggressive playing. Instead I played aggressive but my opponents were not folding as easily. This cost me dearly and I ended up loosing a couple of big hands and busting out in a hurry (just after the second break.)

So far in the WCOOP I’ve done horrible. Oh well. Time to build up my bankroll a bit.

So I checked out some of the SNGs (Sit N Go) tournaments. I found some nice multi-table SNGs at Poker Stars. I can play in a 3 or 5 table tournament instead of a single table SNG. The prize money is a bit better.

I decided to try out a 27 player 3 table SNG with a $5+$.50 entry fee. I’d have the opportunity to win $50 if I came in first and the top 5 positions pay out. Generally speaking in SNGs I’m usually in the money, so I thought I’d try it out…

Thank you for participating.[/blockquote]

And remember when I’m playing tight I should be seeing the flop less than 20% of the time? Check out my stats:
You finished in 1st place (eliminated at hand #2495696049).

155 hands played and saw flop:
- 4 times out of 31 while in small blind (12%)

[…] Fittsy over at LearnPokerStrategy.com posted an update on his WCOOP. So far he’s not doing well, but hopefully if he keeps playing well the cards will start to fall his way! […]
