Omaha is a crappy game and Limit poker is WORSE

I don’t play much Omaha. There is a reason. I had a boat (fullhouse) last night and knew I’d beat my opponents straight. When the dust settled we both splitted the pot with straights! Argh! What I forgot about Omaha is you can only count 2 cards from your hand towards the high and 2 cards towards the low. So in my case I needed to count my pair of nines and one of my queens to make my boat. Since I could only count 2 I couldn’t make my boat!

Limit poker is worse! Limit SUCKS! Or maybe I just don’t know how to play it.

The problem with limit poker is these idiots play any hand. You get sucked out on way to easily in limit. I end up having to play really tight in limit poker and I still get sucked out on.

Maybe I need to do some reason on Limit. I haven’t read much about it. Maybe I’m just playing it wrong.

I’ll check over at Poker School Online and see what articles they have on Limit Poker.

I do still enjoy stud poker though. I really wish more people played 7 card stud. It is an awesome game.

On another note.. I’m putting back up the links to where I am currently playing and my username’s there. If you ever want to match wits against me, look me up.

Limit hold ‘em is a much easier game that no limit. If you’re a good poker player and can’t regularly beat low limit hold ‘em games then you need to rethink your strategy. Play tighter, tilt less, and focus on long term earnings not short term :)

Omaha is a fun game once you understand it. I would recommend buying a book that teaches you the basics of reading the board and hands and counting outs quickly. It’s a great game because after the flop you know more than 70% the information you’ll need for the entire hand.

    Hey Ben B.

Thats cool. I appreciate your comments. I probably don’t play limit and Omaha enough. That is why I don’t like them.

Do you have any books on limit or Omaha that you recommend?

    Ps. thanks for registering :)

Obviously the best way to learn is experience - but as far as books go I’d recommend Super System and Super System 2 - they offer pretty comprehensive guides on strategy for limit hold ‘em, even if it is “old fashioned” it’s a ton of great information.

I forget what book I read on Omaha - it was a friends, but it was just like “Introduction to Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo” - nothing too fancy or advanced.
