Hey poker studs,
Learn Poker Strategy is back! It has been a few months since I’ve been keeping up my blog. I’m glad to be back writing again!
My poker has improved a ton since I first started this blog. Generally speaking when I started my blog I would usually be one of the first people knocked out of a tournament and would be in the worst 25% of players. Now days I’m in the top 50% and frequently am able to place in the money. I still haven’t won anything larger than a 10 person Sit N Go though.
Recently I went through a whole string of bad beats. I mean stuff like going all in with pocket Aces to get beat by someone who called with 6, 8, off suit.
I’m going to begin posting again about advanced poker strategies and hands I have encountered in tournaments. I’m also starting a new site which reviews online poker rooms. One thing I’ve found is that some sites really suck, while a few sites are super awesome. I’ve found the software on some sites is very difficult to use, while other sites have some really straightforward software to use.
I’ve also been studying poker a lot lately. I’ve bought several books and magazines on the subject and will start reviewing them for you guys too.
Hopefully by reading this blog you’ll be able to save a lot of headache from signing up for any crappy poker rooms, buying the wrong poker book, etc.
So be sure to bookmark this site, or add our rss feed to your favorite news reader.

Oh man Oh man.
I had a rough night tonight. I haven’t played a lot of poker since last weekend. I was kind of anxious and started out playing way too loose.
After a few hours I played in another Poker School tournament. No Limit Hold’em with a $20 fun money buy in. I don’t have much bank roll so I figure this will be a good tournament to get into and win some fun money and build up my rankings. It is late at night so the tournament only has 81 players. The top 9 are in the money.
I get my random table and start checking the rankings of the players around me. The player immediately to my left is named “was”. I see his rankings is 59 out of 1917 ranked players. If that isn’t good enough Poker School shows a player’s accomplishments. “Tom” (Was’s real name) had more accomplishments than I have ever seen. He was top 3 in the Platinum league 9 times and top 3 in the Diamond league. Including winning the diamond league once and 2x winning the Platinum league. These are the leagues for the people who play the most tournaments every month. Needless to say this shows a lot of consistency on Tom’s part.
I was also seated with players ranked 146 and 161 out of 1917.
Needless to say I was just hoping to stick around for awhile. I wanted to play really tight with these guys.
